About Senegal
A 5.30 hours flight from Paris and Brussels, Senegal is the nearest black African country to Europe.
It has a reputation of political stability and friendly welcoming. People are known for their good mood, love of music, toleration and the legendary téranga.
They live in perfect harmony with the other cultures of the country.
Their law approaches ours, they speak French almost everywhere and the Euro is accepted in all trades.
The tropical climate has two seasons. The dry season covers mid-October until mid-July and the rainy season which consists of short but heavy showers, makes the land beautifully green. The whole year through, the temperature varies between 25° and 30°. The most pleasant period corresponds to our winter season, from October until April.
E.C. members only need a valid passport (still valid 6 months after return to Europe) without visa. For the Belgian and the French, an identity card is sufficient if they have a hotel voucher. No vaccination of health-booklet is required, but a preventive treatment against malaria is advisable. It would be a good idea to consult your doctor.
A safe is at your disposal at the reception of the hotel. There is also a little shop where you will find forgotten products.
Bank cards accepted : Visa, MasterCard, American Express, for payment of the hotel invoice, excursions and extra's (not for withdrawal).
